Nicaragua medical mission members welcomed Nicaraguan youth volunteer Marcel Guzman Vasquez to Florida. His trip was made possible through the Nicaragua Mission sponsorship. Marcel started volunteering during one of our first missions around the age of 12. He has volunteered his services every year since then. Marcel learned English to be able to assist the mission more. Being bilingual, (Spanish and English), has been extremely helpful in his ability to translate for the mission workers. He is also a very valuable asset working with the children in Vacation Bible School. During his stay in the USA, he was able to get vaccinated against COVID-19, and was also able to visit Community Presbyterian Church in Clewiston, Florida. This church is a major contributor to the mission. Unfortunately due to COVID, the group has been unable to return to Nicaragua since 2019, however, Marcel always stays in touch and waits for our return! Marcel is currently studying architecture at a University in Nicaragua. The mission provided him with a small scholarship to help with his studies.
We wish Marcel God’s speed and much success with his studies. We hope to be able to return soon to Nicaragua to continue the mission work with him by our side.
